TFD: Auxiliary meeting

The Texoma Fire Department Auxiliary met March 18 with 20 members in attendance with everyone reciting the Pledge of Allegiance. The guest speaker was Kalynne Johnson from the Marshall County Chamber of Commerce. After her discussion, the Auxiliary took a vote to become a member of the Chamber.

The Door prize was won by Brenda who also had a birthday this month which was celebrated with a song and a gift. Fellowship sent out eight birthday cards for March.

As a reminder, requirements to be a firefighter are: be at least 18 years of age, able to pass background checkandinterviewwithFire Chief. Male and female are accepted.

TheTexomaFireAuxiliary usually meets on the 3rd Monday of the month at 1:30 p.m. with a social gathering at 1 p.m. prior to the meeting. The next meeting will occur on Monday, April 15, 2024.

The Texoma Fire District Board of Directors meets the first Thursday of the Month at the Training/Community Center located at 10978 Parkview at 6:30 p.m. The next meeting will be on April 4, 2024. All are welcome to attend.

The Exercise/Stretching classes are on Monday and Wednesday at 10 a.m. Cards/ Games are on the second and fourth Tuesday at 12 p.m. Auxiliary members are welcome to join in For anyone interested in renting the Texoma Community Building, Contact Gayla Freeman at 580-565-1400. Returncallsmightbedelayed as this is the Auxiliary phone and it is being monitored on a twice a week basis. So please give plenty of heads-up time. The cost is $75 per day. The building can only be rented by a member of the Texoma Fire District. Be advised, the capacity of the auxiliary building is 158.

The Lighthouse Methodist Church located at 4923 Alberta Creek Road provides an evening meal from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. Lighthouse Kids Program for grade school children consisting of Bible stories, crafts and games is held each Wednesday 6 p.m. to 7p.m. following the meal.

Margaritas are still 1/2 price all day every Tuesday at Gecko’s on Hwy 70 east of Kingston.
