Oklahoma man facing animal cruelty charges

A man was arrested for Animal Cruelty after a phone call from a concerned citizen. On January 14, the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office was notified about a dog that appeared to be without adequate shelter, food or water.

Officers went to a residence on Highway 99C to investigate the claim. Upon arrival, officers noted that the dog, in fact, was without adequate shelter, food or water to face the bitter cold thathashitMarshallCounty.

During the investigation, officers learned of another piece of property that the suspect, Dario Garcia, owned Being that the property was not far from the original residence, officers traveled to it to inspect it and found other animals in the same condition as the first.

Officers requested assistance fromtheMadillAnimal Control and had the dogs removed from the residences. The animal shelter was more than willing to assist and was able to remove the dogs and provide them shelter and other necessities.

Garcia is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Garcia, a 61-year-old male from Clinton is facing charges for Animal Cruelty. An online search found priors for Distribution of CDS, Concealing Stolen Property and traffic violations.
