Man arrested months after charges filed; one still at large

A McAlester man was arrested months after Burglary charges were filed. Carmen Johnson is sitting in jail after an investigation that began in June. It all started on June 26, 2020 with Madill Police Officer Gannon Reid was dispatched to Walmart in regard to a theft that occurred the day prior.

Reid made contact with Daniel Tallack of Walmart Loss Prevention and was told there was a theft that occurred at Walmart. According to Tallack, the suspects were the same ones from a theft at Atwoods in Ardmore.

Tallack informed Reid that there was a total of four suspects, two male and two females. Because of the theft in Ardmore, Sergeant Taylor with the Ardmore Police Department was able to identify all four of the suspects.

Michelene Reno-Bankston, and Salestreal Scarpello were both arrested and booked into the Marshall County Jail. Reno-Bankston, a 25-year-old female from McAlester was arrested on October 1 for Third-Degree Burglary, and Grand Larceny. An online search found three prior convictions for Taking a Stolen Credit Card, one for Concealing Stolen Property and Possession of CDS – Methamphetamines.

Scarpello, a 21-year-old female from Colbert was arrested on October 28 for two counts of Third-Degree Burglary, two counts of Grand Larceny, and Larceny of Merchandise from a Retailer. Her priors show online as Concealing Stolen Property, Possession of CDS – Marijuana, and three conCarmen Johnson, a 31-year charges that stemmed from avictions for Taking/Receiving a Stolen Credit or Debit Card.

Johnson, a 31-year-old male from McAlester was arrested on December 2. He is facing two charges for Third-Degree Burglary, and Grand Larceny. He is also facing Omitting to Provide for a Minor and Failure to Register as a Sex Offender from separate incidents.

His priors show online as Concealing Stolen Property, Possession of a Firearm After the Former Conviction of a Felony, Receiving Stolen Credit Card, Indecent Exposure, Attempting to Elude, Driving Under Suspension, No Insurance, and Domestic Abuse/Assault and Battery.

Harrison has not been booked into the Marshall County Jail yet, but he is facing two counts of Third-Degree Burglary and Grand Larceny from this incident. He is also facing charges for Concealing Stolen Property, Uttering a Forged Instrument and three charges for Receiving Stolen Credit Card.
