Enos: Signs of heat exhaustion

Hello Enos! And welcome to summer. The heat has definitely made its way to Oklahoma.

We are, once again, listing the signs/symptoms for Heat Exhaustion and Heat Stroke. If you are showing signs of sweating heavily, cold and clammy skin, nausea, muscle cramps, dizziness or headache after being outside for extended period of time, you could possibly be suffering from heat exhaustion.

You should get to an air conditioned room and drink fluids slowly. If you are showing these signs and have a high core body temp, seizures or loss of consciousness, you should seek help immediately. And please check on your neighbors.

Our outside pets can also suffer from heat stroke. So please provide your pets with plenty of shade and fresh water to drink.

Our community always seems to populate immensely during the summer months, and this year is no exception. Whether you live here full time, part-time or just visiting, please use courtesy when driving and visiting the local beaches.

Trash receptacles are provided at most of the beach areas, so please pack out what you packed in, don't leave it for someone else to clean up.

Happy birthday wishes to Michael Skinner, Skeeter Citrowske, Trish Barker, Michael Cook, Cindy McKibban, Paulette Owens, Terry Riggle, Karen Riggle and Ashley Beesley.

Have a great weekend, be careful in the heat, do something nice for someone and remember "Better in life to have an 'Oops' than a 'What if'." - unknown
