Hello Enos and Hello March! This month blew in with authority. Hopefully the winds will lighten up and these allergies will calm down. Anyone else battling allergies? Surely I am not the only one.
Don’t forget that Daylight Savings Time will begin at 2:00 a.m. on Sunday, March 8. Spring your clocks forward one hour before laying your head on that pillow Saturday night or you may be late for church on Sunday! This is also the perfect time to change the batteries in our smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors.
Be sure to mark your calendars for Saturday, March 14 for the 5th Annual Burning of the Socks event at Buncombe Creek. It will be held from 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. There will be a free Weiner roast and Chili Cook Off with judging at 11:00. The Polar Plunge will take place at 1:00. There will be a Dunk Tank, Bounce House and several other carnival games. The C7 Band will play from 11:00-2:00. This is a fundraising event benefitting the Buncombe Creek VFD, Lake Texoma Association and the Annual Fireworks display in July. Be sure to take the family for a fun filled day.
Hope everyone remembered to vote on Super Tuesday, March 3. If you haven’t registered to vote, please go by the Marshall County Courthouse and get registered.
