Christmas Parades set for this weekend

Two christmas parades are scheduled for saturday, december 5, 2020. both cities, madill and kingston, are sharing the theme for the parades.

The theme is “Patriotic Christmas.” No political signs or floats are allowed. The theme is patriotic, not political.

There will only be one Santa to keep the confusion out of the mix for the children.

There will be a prize for the best float for each parade.

The Kingston Grand Marshall will be Brian Brister, Kingston Public Schools Superintendent, and the Madill Grand Marshall will be Kathy Germany of Southern Oklahoma Animal Resources.

The lineup for the Kingston parade is at 4:00 p.m. at Kingston High School, and the parade stars at 5:00 p.m.

The lineup for the Madill Parade starts at 6:00 p.m. at First United and down Lillie. It starts at 7:00 p.m. and is a lighted parade.

Hope for Marshall County is requesting float entries and visitors bring an unwrapped toy for Fill the Sleigh to benefit the needy children of Marshall County.

The unwrapped gift is not required, however, it will help immensely.
