Buncombe Creek offers calendars

Fall is here and cooler days are soon to follow! We lost another member of our community on September 22 with the passing of Larry Kelley, a longtime member and deacon at our church. He will be greatly missed.

The Buncombe Creek Marina has free 2020 calendars to give away, so be sure to get down there and pick one up. Also, our very own volunteer fire department had their Open House on Saturday, October

5. The Kingston Pharmacy was there to give Flu shots to anyone that wanted one. They also discussed their agenda, introduced guest speakers and had a good turnout overall.

Don’t forget the Shay Community Center is having their monthly Potluck on Thursday, October 10 at 6:30 p.m. Be sure to come with your favorite dish and enjoy the good company.

The Texoma Southern Baptist Church will be holding a fundraiser for Seth Burke who was severely injured in an auto accident. It will be held on Sunday, October 13 after the church service from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. and will include Hot Dogs & Chips along with a Bake Sale and Car Wash. Please be sure to drop by and show your support. Unfortunately, time and circumstances could put any one of us in the same predicament and it is nice to know that we gather together and help each other during our time of need!

I want to remind everyone that the Firefly Art Festival will be held next weekend, October 11 through October 13 at LaJeanne’s Plants & Things in Enos, with food trucks and art vendors from all over. Be sure to venture out there and enjoy the festivities.

The Kingston schools fall break will be October 16 through October 18 and Columbus Day is on Monday, October 14. Be safe and have a good week.
