Buncombe Creek: Is there an end in sight?

Well, the children’s excitement to return to school on Thursday, August 6 in Kingston, was short lived. On Friday, the determination was made to provide on-line virtual study temporarily as there was a positive Covid-19 case present at the Child Nutrition Center.

What stressful times we live in. Single parents or a household where both parents work will undoubtably take its toll on the family as well as their income, if one must stay home to ensure their children are at task with the work criteria. I hope the crisis will be over with soon.

The Open Arms Clothes Closet will be available to the community on Saturday, August 15 from 9:00 a.m. to noon. Just go to the Texoma Southern Baptist Church and the ladies will assist you.

A special thank you to the Buncombe Creek Volunteer Fire Department for donating monies to purchase buoys for the beach area at Jurassic Park!. They are “no wake” buoys to help encourage boaters to slow down near the area while people are swimming. Also, the winner of the raffle for the Corn Hole boards with bags will be announced on Tuesday, August 18. You still have time to get some tickets.

My garden is most definitely at its end, as the grasshoppers eat away at anything and everything still trying to survive. Oh well, maybe next year? Stay cool and safe!
