Buncombe Creek: Be safe

Another week and I am still desperately seeking any news or events that might be coming up soon. As restaurants, salons and other businesses are finally opening, I expect many will be out and about enjoying their dining experiences and visiting with friends. Remember to be diligent with safe, sanitary practices.

Flyers are now out for the First Annual Buncombe Creek Ladies Auxiliary Rummage/ Back sale being held on July 4 all day at the Shay Community Center.

All proceeds will help benefit our community for various charities and help with purchasing the material to make the duffel bags and quilts that a few of our ladies are working on for various groups in the area. I hear they will probably top the 100 mark for quilts this year. Yea Ladies!!!

Most churches will be open this Sunday for morning service. Of course, caution is advised but please go and enjoy the sermon and fellowship.

With Mother’s Day fast approaching on Sunday, May 10, it will be nice to take her out for a nice brunch or supper, maybe a picnic somewhere depending on nice weather.

A few friends have been under the weather lately for various health reasons and I pray they receive God’s grace and excellent care to forge ahead.

I hear on the radio that the Annual Sand Bass Festival held in Madill each year will be postponed until August 4 through August 8 while the 24 th Annual Magnolia Festival held in Durant will be put off until November 5 through November 7. Well, until next week stay safe.
