These last few weeks have been gorgeous, with the cooler days and clear evenings. The Fish are still biting on Lake Texoma, as I can see by the haul the Guides are bringing in. I had always heard October and November were prime fishing times, so you might as well come and try your luck.

I heard from members of the Buncombe Creek Volunteer Fire Department that 63 people received flu shots during their open house on Saturday, October 5.

The Ladies Auxiliary ate their lunch this month on Tuesday, October 15 at 11:30 a.m. at the steak house in Ardmore.

The Buncombe Creek Volunteer Fire Dept. also had their monthly meeting at the Fire Station at 7:00 p.m. the same night. Both of these groups meet every month and would love to have new members and input.

Another Bingo night is coming up on Saturday, October 19 at 6:30 p.m. for the mini games and 7:30 p.m. for the regular bingo. It is always held at the Buncombe Creek Community Center in Perry Park, so be sure to come and enjoy the games. Bring your favorite nibble for finger food to share.

Don’t forget the Kingston schools will be on their fall break October 16 through 18..  Watch for children and have a safe and fun week.
