Every Fourth of July in the United States of America, we celebrate Independence Day. This Saturday marks Two Hundred and Forty-Four years since the Declaration of Independence was signed in 1776 by the Continental Congress and we became one nation under God.

Many people and families will celebrate the holiday with fireworks, barbecues, picnics or parades. Some people will celebrate at home with family and friends while others will go to the park or lake. In any case, let me encourage you to stop and think about the price that was and still is being paid for our freedom. Many of the men who signed the Declaration of Independence paid the ultimate price with their life in battle. Throughout the years, men and women have continued to lay down their lives for our freedom. In fact, to this day, courageous men and women are still fighting to keep our freedom. Even with all of the challenges that we are facing this year, we enjoy more freedoms than any other country in the world.

With this in mind, stay safe as you celebrate this year! Remember to pray for our community and support local businesses…we are getting through this TOGETHER!
