I’m still waiting for those Pecans to fall. There are quite a few that refuse to drop but with the colder temps, I’m hoping to get a few pounds anyway.
We have several Thanksgiving dinners coming up this week. The Texoma Southern Baptist Church will be host to their church family Thanksgiving dinner on Wednesday, November 13 at 6:00 p.m. Bring your favorite dish and share in the fellowship.
Also, the very next day on Thursday November 14 at 6:30 p.m., the Shay Community Center will be hosting their Thanksgiving dinner as well and will provide the turkey and dressing while everyone else is to bring their favorite Thanksgiving dish to share. This is definitely NOT a time to worry about a diet.
The Texoma Southern Baptist Church will have their Open Arms Clothes Closet available on Saturday, November 16 from 9:00 a.m. to noon. That evening, go down and enjoy another Bingo night at 6:30 p.m. for the mini games and 7:30 p.m. for the regular bingo. It is always held at the Buncombe Creek Community Center in Perry Park so be sure to come and enjoy the games. Bring your favorite treat for finger food to share.
On Tuesday, November 19, the Ladies Auxiliary will be meeting at the Buncombe Creek Community Center at 11:30 a.m. to share in a luncheon and discuss the minutes and new business for the months ahead. Ladies, be sure to bring your canned goods and unwrapped toys for the boxes provided.
The Buncombe Creek Volunteer Fire Department will meet for their monthly meeting at the fire station on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. as well. Drop in and see what they are doing.
Be sure to call Cheryl at 580-564-7102 if you would like to display lights this year at the Buncombe Creek Marina parking lot. The light display will be lit up on November 30 at dusk and will be accompanied by hot dogs, chili and a bon fire. Bring your drinks and a lawn chair. Well, that’s all I have for now.
