Nine years ago, Amazing Grace boutique was cofounded by two ambitious best friends named Tabatha and Rachel. The ladies have an unusual story about a divine friendship resulting in a lifelong kinship. The journey began for them in 1983 when they were in the second grade, with big dreams of someday having their own store.

Even though they still dreamed of owning their own shop, each one chose a different path for college. Tabatha graduated from Oklahoma State University and Rachel graduated from Texas A&M University. Soon after graduation, the girls started working in retail. Tabatha went to Hibbett Sporting Goods in Ardmore and Rachel started her retail adventure at Fashion Reflections in Sherman. The retail experience,

The retail experience, product knowledge, and personal skills they acquired complemented their already zesty personalities while taking them a step closer to their own boutique. Tabatha’s degree compliments her passion for the industry. “Fashion has always been

Both ladies are extremely creative and passionate about being successful in every endeavor they are involved in. They believe success breeds success, and they build off each other. Over the years, the girls have been side by side for all of life’s disappointments and amazing accomplishments.

It was the fall of 2011 when the two recognized a great 815 S 1ST S opportunity. A prime location became available on the main drag in their hometown. The MADILL, O location was a train wreck but both girls new it had tons of potential. 580-677-92

Tabatha and Rachel agreed on the name Amazing Grace Boutique because it is amazing that they are finally fulfilling a dream given by the Grace of God. The store is based on the principals of doing right by the people that make them successful, the customers. These two lovely ladies are well equipped and prepared to set the trends of Texoma.

Tabatha and Rachel share the same passion for working with people and building positive relationships while keeping up with the latest fashions. They naturally find the best in every situation; constantly upbeat they are ready to meet you at the door with a smile.

Tabatha said that Rachel is the yin to her yang. T.

“I have always wanted to T. own my own boutique and the timing was always crazy,” Tabatha said. “My best Friend K Rachel and I have been doing some kind of retail since we were in the fourth grade, and we have always dreamed of 00 doing this. In 2017, Tabatha purchased the business to become the sole owner. With kids and families and life in general, things just got crazy for them both and they knew it was only going to get busier, so they made a change but are still the best of friends to this day.

Tabatha is a Madill native. The only time she has lived outside of Madill was the four years she attended OSU. She has two boys; Reign who is thirteen and Cutter who is nine. She said her parents, Randy and Sue Rushing, are her inspiration.

“My parents have always been my rock that have taught me hard work and determination from the very beginning.”

She said her retail inspiration derives from a friend, as well.

“My fashion and retail inspiration came from my good friends in Stillwater,” Tabatha said. “Jeff and Stacy Watkins, they own Dupree Sports, it is where I worked while attending OSU along with Toni McBride from the Buckle. These people taught me the ins and outs of the business. What to do, how to make things happen and keep things running smoothly, as well as how to stay on top of it all. To them I am forever grateful.”

She said she has many perks with owning her business.

“I get the privilege of working with an amazing group of ladies every day. I do my best to provide a fun, affordable approach to retail therapy for my customers.”

Today, the store offers fun, fashion and fabulous finds for everyone. Sizes range from newborn to 3x.

Oh, and they did not forget the men, they do have some fun finds for them as well. They are open Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

They typically arrive to the store around 9 a.m. preparing for customers, who they consider friends. They usually have new inventory daily, so they stay busy remerchandising and giving the store a fresh look first thing. They work hard to stay up with times and are in the process of launching a new App to make shopping easy and user friendly. “I love making people hap

“I love making people happy and feel good,” she said. “Whether it is a new outfit, the perfect gift for someone special or just good conversation aka retail therapy. We pride ourselves on good customer service, making everyone that walks through our door feel special.”

Tabatha said she is so blessed that she does not think she would do anything different if the chance arose.

“Honestly, I don’t know that I would, I have been very blessed my entire journey from my wonderful staff, great family and friends. When we opened nine years ago everyone told us not to do it in Madill because it’s to small it would never make it. It just proves with drive, determination and hard work anything is possible. Oh, and location, location, location!”

Her best advice for someone who wants to have the same career is, “Do your research, it is not as easy as it may appear. Start with a very detailed business plan and a great support system.”

“I want to thank everyone for all continued support throughout the years, I look forward to many more. The community of Madill and surrounding area has been amazing to AGB.”
