Our firefighters will be attending structural fire fighting training starting this week in Kingston.

Fall means leaves, rakiing, and burning. Be on the lookout for copperheads in the leaves. Also, remember before burning check for wind, DO NOT BURN if windy, and contact the Sheriff’s office at (580) 795-2221 and let them know you will be doing a control burn.

On October 19 at 1 p.m., the Ladies Auxiliary will meet the TFD Training Center. Mary Green and Sandy Bumgarner are this month’s hostesses. If you would like something to drink bring your own. Anyone in the Texoma Fire District may attend this meeting. Looking forward to seeing everyone there.

Don’t forget to go by Specktacular Foods on McDuffee and order a pizza or two. The food is not only good, but Specktacular Foods is donating $1 for every pizza sold in October to our fire department.

We still have a need for more volunteers. All adults, male or female, and members of this fire district, who are interested in joining the Texoma Volunteer Fire Department, please contact Chief Todd Cissell at (580) 565-4491 or pickup an application from the mailbox at the station, fill it out and return to the station. Chief Cissell will contact you. Everyone is welcome, so consider joining! The fire department truly needs your support.

Thank you and everyone stay safe!
