Regional Champs! Covering

Both the Redskins and the Lady Redskins have claimed the Regional Championship, which will send them to the Area Championship game on Friday, March 2. Both teams are now just one win away from the Class 3A State Tournament.

The Redskins defeated Valliant and the Lady Redskins earned a win over Marietta on Thursday to advance to the Finals on Saturday.

Kingston Lady Redskins 65, Washington Lady Warriors 51

The Regional Championship game between the Kingston Lady Redskins and the Washington Lady Warriors was one for the ages as both teams got into foul trouble, fought back from a deficit, and ended the game with it all on the court.

Crisp Takes Fourth at STATE

The Madill Wildcats had two weight classes represented at the Class 4A State Wrestling Tournament last weekend. Of those, Zane Crisp earned Fourth Place in his last high school wrestling tournament. Sophomore Dylan McCullough won one match in the two-day tournament but unfortunately came up just short of the medal stand.

On Friday, Feb. 23, Crisp and McCullough each took a first round loss, sending them to the Consolation Bracket, with a Third Place medal now in sight.

In the 220-pound weight division, Crisp earned a 5-0 decision over his opponent from Blanchard. With that win Crisp earned a spot in the Consolation Rounds on Saturday morning.

THE KINGSTON Redskins earned First Place as a team in the Allen Powerlifting Meet on Wednesday, Feb. 14, and Thursday, Feb. 15. The Redskins had two individuals place First in the meet – Tanner Blanchard and Zak Bradley.

Parnacher Places in Top 10 at Tough OU Indoor Track Meet

By Molly Raley The Madill Recordickson, Shane Long, Kyliegh Dickerson, and Tucker Rumer.

 

The Madill Wildcats had six events or individuals place in the Top 20 of a tough indoor track meet at the University of Oklahoma. Dylan Parnacher earned 10th Place in the 400-meter dash with a time of 52.85 seconds, running against top competitors from around the state. Trevor Goff and Costa Chambers each placed in the

Top 20 of the 400-meter dash behind Parnacher. Goff ran the race in 53.98 seconds, while Chambers finished in 56.24 seconds. Three other Wildcats also competed in the 400-meter dash. They were: Ruben Rivera (56.24 seconds), Andres Guevara (57.53), and Jerod Fields (1:04.65). Parnacher, Goff, and Chambers teamed up with Brandon Serrano to claim 11th Place in the 880-meter relay (4x220). Together they ran a time of 1:37.16.

Redskins Earn Win over Comanche, Lady Redskins Fall Short in Contest

The Kingston Redskins earned a road win over Comanche on Friday night, 67-42. The Lady Redskins didn’t fair as well, taking a tough 51-38 loss to No. 4 ranked Comanche. Both the Redskins and the Lady Redskins ended the 2018 season on Tuesday, Feb. 13, ranked in Class 3A

. The Lady Redskins remained at No. 11, while the Redskins will begin the Class 3A playoffs with a 19-2 overall record and ranked No. 1. Kingston will begin District play on Saturday, Feb. 17, at home when they play Lindsay. The Lady Redskins will take to the court at 6:30 p.m. with the Redskins to follow.

Kingston Sweeps Indians On the Road Friday Night

The Kingsotn Redskins and Lady Redskins each took a win over the Tishomingo Indians on Friday night on the road.

Kingston Lady Redskins 56, Tishomingo Lady Indians 43

The Lady Redskins jumped out early, taking a 12-9 lead over Tishomingo at the end of the first quarter.

Kingston’s Kes Reeves earned six points in the period, draining four of four at the free-throw line.

Wildcats Down Comets Friday

Just a few short weeks ago, the Wildcats got beat by one point to Dickson to seal their fate in the Tishomingo Tournament’s Consolation Championship game. However, the ending to this matchup was slightly different with the Wildcats finishing on top of the Comets by more than 10 points.

Madill Wildcats 66, Dickson Comets 52

It was a tie game at the end of the first quarter with both teams earning 15 points. Madill’s Miguel Duran sank three jump shots to claim six points in the first period for the Wildcats.

Blue, Channel Catfish Biting at Lake Texoma

According to the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation, Lake Texoma’s elevation was reported normal on Sunday, Jan. 21, with water clear.

Game Warden Trey Hale stated striped bass are biting fair on jigs, live shad, plastic baits, Sassy Shad, and slabs along channels, in the main lake, around points, and in the river channel.
