Kingston Players Make All-Tournament

The Lady Redskins were represented by sophomore Avri Weeks. When asked about it after the selection, she replied, “It’s an honor to be selected to the All-Tournament team, but I have to give credit to my teammates. Without them I don’t get the easy looks around the basket, and the way we play is definitely a team effort.” The boys, being Champions, claimed three spots on the team. Seniors, Jacob Germany, Conner Brister,, and RJ Weeks, were announced as All-Stars. RJ Weeks, when asked about being chosen with his sister, Avri, replied heartily, “Its nice, really nice.”

Congratulations to coach Taylor Weibner and his assistant Brett Hayes, and coach Chad Rumer and his assistant Bruce Keatts. The Redskin fans were “in the house” at every session. Lady Redskins Win With a 30-Point Lead

The Lady Redskins started off the season last Tuesday night, Nov. 27, with a 76 to 46 win against Caddo, with a return to what made them special last season, defense.

The Caddo girls struggled all night from the constant full court pressure the Lady Redskins dished out. This resulted in steals, turnovers, easy buckets and. more often than not, free throws.

Good outside shooting came from Kassie Bailey and Brit Henderson. Bailey finished with 8 points despite taking a hard charge in the paint and spending time in the dressing room recovering. Henderson chipped in with two 3-pointers, and added 10 points. Emi O’Steen started the game at the point and was solid in her ball handling and defense.
