Redskins Earn State Rank after Defeating Coalgate, Prepare for Atoka Friday Night

The Kingston Redskins (6-2, 3-1 ) moved into the Top 10 of the Class 3A football state rankings this week by defeating a ranked Coalgate (7-1, 3-1) squad.

Kingston’s Rylee Holmes had a successful night at quarterback, throwing for four touchdowns. He was also 20-for-27 for a total of 354 yards passing.

The Redskins scored 26 unanswered points in the first half, taking an impressive 26-0 lead into halftime.

Holmes connected with Tyler Blanchard in the first quarter to score the first touchdown for the Redskins.

Trey Keatts was successful on the extra-point kick to give Kingston an early 7-0 lead. The Redskins would score three times in the second frame with a run and two completed passes from Holmes.

Madill CC Kicked Up Dirt at State Meet

Saturady, Oct. 21, Madill and Kingston took runners to the Cross-Country Oklahoma State Meet in Shawnee.

The Madill Wildcats and Lady ’Cats both placed Fifth as a team. Kingston had one Lady ‘Skin runner and two Redskin runners that placed in the Top 100 Overall places.

The Madill Wildcats ran an average time of 18:21.97 and received a score of 169 in the 5K run.

Miguel Duran was the top runner for Madill and placed 9th Overall out of 164 runners. He ran a time of 17:14.85. Julio Gallo was the second finisher for Madill and ran a time of 17:58.10. He placed 21st Overall.

Diego Ibarra placed for the Wildcats and ran a time of 18:34.86.

Keon Christie and Hunter Inslee also placed for the Wildcats team. Christie ran a time of 18:52.84, and Inslee finished with a time of 19:09.22.

Madill Takes Tough Loss to Lone Grove

The Madill Wildcats had a chance to tie Lone Grove with less than three minutes left in the contest after an interception by Trevor Goff on fourth down gave Madill the ball back.

Three incomplete passes by Colton Jones brought the game down to one last play. Jones then threw to Seth Coleman on fourth down who was eventually tackled before the firstdown marker, giving the ball back to the Longhorns on a turnover-ondowns.

Lone Grove would score again with 16 seconds remaining in the game to earn a 27-14 win over the Wildcats.

The Longhorns jumped out to a 7-0 lead with 2:22 remaining in the first quarter after a 13-yard run and a made extra-point kick.

The first quarter ended with Lone Grove still in the lead over Madill 7-0. Madill would tie the game at 7-7 on a run by Dekevis Jordan to score a touchdown with 9:35 left in the second quarter. Isaac Martinez made the extra-point kick, giving the Wildcats some momentum.

Try to Keep Up With Them

Madill and Kingston Cross-Country will be represented in the State Meet Oct. 21, after placing well enough in the Regional Meet on Saturday, Oct. 14.

The Madill Lady ‘Cats placed Third as a team, and the Wildcats placed Fourth as a team.

The Kingston Redskins finished in Seventh Place. Ellie Nickell ran for the Lady ’Skins and placed 12th as an Individual.

The Lady ‘Cats ran an impressive average time of 14:04.41, right behind Plainview and Pauls Valley.

Wolves Land Vicious Bite on Redskins

The Kingston Redskins (5-2, 2-1) suffered their first District loss on Friday night against the ranked Davis Bulldogs (5-2, 4-0). Despite an early 7-7 tie, the Wolves broke free late in the first quarter and scored 42 additional points to give them a 49-17 victory over Kingston. Davis’ run game was fierce as the Wolves racked up 470 total rushing yards.

Davis scored their first touchdown on a 50-yard run by quarterback Payton Weber on just the third play of the game. Noah Goodin made the extra-point kick to give the Wolves an early 7-0 lead over Kingston.

The Redskins, however, answered two plays later with a 64-yard run by Dalton Williams, giving Kingston a touchdown. Trey Keatts was successful on the extra-point kick, tying the game at 7-7 with 9:50 remaining in the first quarter.

Seminole Commands Field In District Win at Madill

The Chieftains held Madill (3-4, 0-3) scoreless until the end of the third quarter, scoring 44 unanswered points. Seminole (5-1, 2-0) eventually claimed a 44-7 victory over the Wildcats.

Seminole scored its first touchdown of the night on a 30-yard run by Jamon Dennis with 9:48 remaining in the first quarter. Cameron Gunville ran into the end zone for a successful two-point conversion, putting the Chieftains in the lead over Madill 8-0.

Redskins Claim Shutout Victory over Tishomingo

Scoring 21 points in the third quarter sealed the Redskins’ (5-1, 2-0) 31-0 shutout victory over District rival Tishomingo (0-7, 0-3) on Friday night.

The game was close in the first quarter after Kingston’s Trey Keatts made a 29-yard field goal to put the Redskins on the board with a 3-0 lead over the Indians. That lead stuck and Kingston added to it later in the first quarter when Rylee Holmes connected with Tyler Blanchard for a 51-yard touchdown pass. Keatts made the extra-point kick, giving Kingston a 10-0 lead over Tishomingo.

Pre-State Challenge Accepted: Cross-Country Runners Unleashed

The Madill and Kingston Cross-Country teams both ran in a meet at Oklahoma Baptist University on Oct. 5 for a pre-state challenge.

Kingston’s Lady Redskins ran in a 3,200-meter event for 3A. Ellie Nickell was the top finisher for the girls. She placed 27th, with a time of 14:50.28.

Kingston Returns to Action this Week

Garrette Voyles and the rest of the Redskins will be returning to football action tomorrow (Friday, Oct. 6) when they travel to Tishomingo.

Lady Redskins End Season At Regional Tournament

The Kingston Lady Redskins lost a first-round, extra-inning battle to Marlow, but two consecutive wins put them in the Regional Finals to face No. 3 ranked Washington.

Scoring run after run, the Lady Redskins put up a hard fought game, but the Lady Warriors overtook Kingston to advance to the Class 3A State Tournament. Marlow 6, Kingston 2 In a first-round matchup, both Kingston and Marlow were neck-andneck throughout the contest, taking a 0-0 ballgame into the eighth inning.

The Lady Redskins had two runners make it to third base, but they were unable to capitalize on the advantage.
