Homecoming Win for the Mat Cats

Wrestling Homecoming filled the air in the Madill Middle School gym on Tuesday, Jan. 15. The Mat Cats wrestled Newcastle, with not an empty seat in the gym.

Before the Madill High School Team wrestled, Homecoming Festivities took place.

Tough Competition For Mat Cats

Madill students had free admission on Thursday, Jan. 17, for the dual against Cache. This said, the students and community came out as there was not a seat to spare in the Madill Middle School gym.

Senior Colt Crowson said, “I did not wrestle at all last year after suffering an injury. My goal this year is to win State. We know Cache is a tough school to go against. Our practices have been hard core. I lead by example–keep a level head and be encouraging to the team.”

Mat Cats Win

The Mat Cats were loud and proud in Frisco, Texas, at the Wolverine Invitational.

The Mat Cats won First Place with 183 points. Frisco Centennial High School took Second Place, and Burleson Centennial High School took Third Place.

2019 Kingston Invitational New Year’s Classic

The Tournament began Thursday, Jan. 10, at 11 a.m. with the Talihina and Silo girls facing off.

Thursday went well for the girls of Kingston, Dale, Silo, and Howe, who moved one day closer to the Championship Game.

Moving closer to First Place for the boys’ teams were Kingston, Atoka, Dale, and Rock Creek.

Kingston’s Annual New Year’s Classic

It is that time again. It seems like yesterday. It was 2018, and the ‘Classic” was over and the teams from Hopefully, 2019 will bring similar results.

The Tournament, which starts tomorrow (Jan. 9, 2019) will be jam-packed with talent and ranked teams. On the boys’ side of the bracket, four ranked teams open the first round.

Clash on the Court

The Lady Redskins and the Redskins Basketball Teams were hosts to the Madill Lady ‘Cats and the Wildcats on Tuesday, Jan. 4, at the KMAC.

This was the second time Kingston and Madill had met on the court this basketball season.

All four teams met in the gym with an outpouring of community support. The stands were filled with Wildcat and Redskin fans.

Redskins Earn Fifth Place at Tournament of Champions

The Kingston Redskins traveled to Tulsa to compete in the Tournament of Champions held by Tulsa Public Schools on Dec. 27-29.

The Redskins won two out of their three games and ended the tournament in Fifth Place as the Consolation Bracket Champions.

Round One

In the first round the Redskins went up against the Kingfisher Yellowjackets.

Wildcats Win Third Place

The Madill Wildcats and the Lady ‘Cats played in the Ronnie Moore Invitational tournament on Dec. 27, 28, and 29 in Marietta.

Round One

The Lady ‘Cats played the Collinsville Lady Pirates. Collinsville proved too tough for the Lady ‘Cats, winning 70 to 37. Junior Kristen Chapa was the highest scorer with 8 points. Chapa was followed by freshman Jayden Weiberg with 6 points. The Wildcats also played the Collinsville Pirates, winning the game 40 to 28. The Wildcats held the Pirates to single-digit scoring each period of play. The highest scorers were senior Diego Flores and junior Aron Vann with 6 points each. They were followed by juniors ,Wyatt Gray and Trent Harvey, with 5 points each.

Lady Redskins Take Third Place on the Road

The Kingston Lady Redskins ended their winter break early and traveled to East Central University in Ada to play Dec. 27-29.

The Lady Redskins competed in the 2018 Bertha Frank Teague Mid-America Classic tournament.

They won two out of their three games and ended the tournament in Third Place.
