JH Wildcats Win Midwestern Conference

For the first time in the 50 year existence of the Midwestern Conference both the high school and the junior high Madill wrestling teams have won the title. The junior high Wildcats competed in the conference tournament this last weekend where they took first as a team with three individual champions in Dylan McCollough, Colt Crowson and Hunter Cambron.

Redskins Named Class All-Stars

Kingston’s Tyler Stovall and Skye Lowe were named to the Class 2A East All-Star Football Team by the Oklahoma Coaches Association on Monday, Jan. 25. Stovall was named as All-Star defensive back for the East defense. Lowe was given the position of wide receiver for the East offense.

Wildcats Open Powerlifting Season with Third-Place Win

The Madill powerlifting team took the first step of the competitive season Friday (Jan. 22) in Temple by earning third place as a team. Anatolio Ibarra won his division at 157 pounds. Traven Bagley secured second in the 132-pound class.

Wildcats Win Texas Tourney

The Madill Wildcats traveled to San Antonio, Texas, over the weekend to compete in a dual against Johnson High School and then again in the Russ Pederson Invitational. Madill won the tournament as a team for the first team trophy in a number of years, according to head coach Jim Love. They also pulled out a dual victory against Johnson, 48-21.

Local Cheer Academy Wins at Competition

The Tishomingo Cheer Academy recently traveled to the Allen Convention Center to compete at Cheer America Championship’s Dallas Platinum Competition. Placing First for the academy was Starstruck (junior division, level two) for Best Stunts.

The Madill Wildcats will open the 2016 semester on the road at the Byng Winter Classic Tournament. The girls are set to play Broken Bow at 1 p.m. today (Thursday).

Redskins Take First Wins of 2016

The Kingston Redskins opened the 2016 semester with two wins against the Marietta Indians. The Lady Redskins fell behind early as they trailed Marietta 29-20 at halftime. The second half, however, proved enough as Kingston outscored the Lady Indians 10-5 in the third quarter and again in the fourth, 15-7 to gain the 45-41 victory.

Madill Wrestling Homecoming

Madill Wrestling Homecoming is tonight (Thursday) at the Madill Middle School gymnasium, with the Wildcats taking on the Ardmore Tigers. Coronation festivities will begin at approximately 7 p.m., between the junior high and high school duals.
