Wildcats Compete in Round One of Playoffs

The Madill Wildcats opened the playoffs with a Wildcard game on Thursday, April 28. They traveled to Crooked Oak where they picked up a 2-1 win, sending them into the first round of the state playoffs. “They only had one loss, so we knew it was going to be a battle,” coach Jose Cortes said. “Their only loss came to the defending state champions.”

Several Marshall County Athletes to Represent at State Meet

Last weekend, several Marshall County athletes competed at the Regional Track Meet. With that competion there are now 26 events for both Madill and Kingston being represented at the State Meet this weekend. Madill competes in Class 4A, while Kingston is one below in Class 3A. Madill’s J.J. Sanders finished the Regional Meet as Champion in both the 400-meter dash and the 200-meter dash. He ran times of 51.30 seconds and 23.20 seconds.

Kingston Earns Third at LCC Track Meet

The Kingston Lady Redskins finished third as a team in the Lake Country Conference track meet in Tishomingo on Saturday, April 23. The Lady Redskins earned a total of 61 points while the winners from Plainview held 252.

Redskins Defeat Tishomingo for District Title

The Kingston Redskins dominated in their district performance against the Tishomingo Indians on Tuesday, April 26. The Redskins picked up a 14-4 win in game one for the best of three series and then took a 10-0 victory in game two to seal the District title.

Lone Grove Invitational Champions

Kingston’s golf team traveled to Lone Grove on Tuesday, April 12, where they earned the championship trophy with a team score of 324. Matthew O’Steen shot a 77 to place him in second overall, while R.J. Weeks finished in third overall with a score of 78. Ryan Capps finished sixth overall with an 83 and Noah Hodges earned 10th place with an 86. Kingston will be preparing for the Regional Qualifer and the Regional Tournament.
