REDSKINS DOMINATE DAVIS IN DISTRICT OPENER

By Michael Haggerty

Total domination. For years, those two words have described the series between district rivals Kingston and Davis, with Davis delivering an annual thrashing to the Redskins. Thursday night, in a game moved up a day because of the heavy rains predicted to start Friday, the Redskins took Davis out to the woodshed instead 48-21.

The fireworks began with Davis’ first drive. The Wolves went threeand- out, and lined up to punt. However, Kingston sophomore Matthew Hawkins crashed the formation and blocked the ball as it came off the foot of Davis senior Devon Gregg, and sophomore Bryant Watts recovered the ball for the Redskins at the Davis 3. Davis gave up more yards on an offsides penalty, and senior Rylee Holmes punched it in on a quarterback sneak to give Kingston a 7-0 lead.
