OK Freewheel Bike Tour Coming to Madill, City Employees Appreciated

The City of Madill will be the starting point for the 2016 Oklahoma Freewheel Bike Tour. The Madill City Council gave their approval to the Marshall County Chamber of Commerce for use of the Community Center in Raymond Gary Memorial Park during its monthly meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 12.

KYCC Remodel Project on Next Phase

At the Kingston Town Council’s monthly meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 12, members approved to move forward with the next phase of remodel for the Kingston Youth and Civic Center. The phase would consist of heating and air-conditioning units and electrical work. The agenda item was passed and, during a special meeting held on Monday, Jan. 18, the Council approved obtaining bids for the installation of the heating and air units.

American Trailer Works, Big Tex To Merge Creating New Company

Bain Capital Private Equity, one of the world’s foremost private investment firms, announced Tuesday, Jan. 5, it has reached a definitive agreement to acquire American Trailer Works (ATW), a leading manufacturer of utility and cargo trailers. The company is being acquired from an investor group managed by Southlake Equity Group. Financial terms of the private transaction were not disclosed. Bain Capital plans to merge American Trailer Works with Big Tex Trailers, a leading manufacturer of utility trailers in North America, to create a newly-formed company.

County Assessor Praised, Duroy Elected Chairman

After reading an article published in the Daily Oklahoman regarding the State of Oklahoma County Assessors Audits, County Commissioner Chris Duroy praised Assessor Debbie Croasdale for her efforts and dedication to the citizens of Marshall County with the passing of the state audit. The discussion took place at the Marshall County Commissioners meeting on Monday, Jan. 4.

James Fullingim accepted the Madill Chief of Police position June 1, 2004, after serving the community in the police department for seven years. After becoming a patrol officer in 1997, Fullingim stated he grew a passionate connection to his work. “It’s become who I am,” he said. Fullingim leads a unit of eleven officers in the Madill Police Department.

Oklahoma National Guard Conducts 1,100 Funerals in 2015

President George Washington once said, “The willingness with which our young people are likely to serve in any war, no matter how justified, shall be directly proportional to how they perceive the veterans of earlier wars were treated and appreciated by their nation.” The Oklahoma National Guard has always taken the treatment and rendering of honors to America’s veterans very seriously.
