Tai Chi Course Mastered

Tai Chi course participants recently received certificates indicating their completion of the six-week course under the instruction of Michael Maxwell of OHAI in Durant. The classes were held at the Kingston Senior Center. MCJLS Set For Feb. 24

The 74th Annual Marshall County Junior Livestock Show will begin Wednesday, Feb. 24, and go through Saturday, Feb. 27, at the fair barn in William Ray Memorial Park. Check in is from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. On Thursday, the morning begins with poultry at 9 a.m., followed by wether lambs at 9:30 a.m., ewes at 10:30 a.m., wether goats at 11:30 a.m., doe goats at 12:30 p.m., junior leadline interviews and tea at 3 p.m., senior leadline interviews and tea at 4:15 p.m., Leadline at 6:30 p.m., pen of two at 7:30 p.m. and best-dressed animal at 8 p.m.

Chamber Banquet Set For Tonight

The Marshall County Chamber of Commerce is holding their annual banquet and silent auction tonight (Thursday) at the Wildcat Den on the campus of Madill Public Schools. The silent auction is set to begin at 6 p.m., while the banquest will start at 6:30 p.m. The theme for this year’s banquet is “Celebrating Marshall County Businesses.” President of First United Bank in Madill, Rick Lane, will serve as the special, guest speaker for the night. Several businesses and individuals from Marshall County will be given awards throughout the night.

OSDH Provides Tips to Avoid Injury, Illness during a Power Outage

The recent storms in the state have left a significant number of Oklahomans without power. Currently, the Oklahoma State Department of Health (OSDH) reports more than 50 storm-related injuries, including nine due to carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning. The OSDH reminds those affected by a power outage to be mindful of safe practices to prevent illness and injury.

OKC Group Plans Coast-to-Coast Bike Trip

Most of us have a bucket list – see Rome, climb a mountain, whale watching, etc. But for anyone who spends Saturday mornings secretly admiring the amount of salt residue on their skin after a long bike ride, that list probably includes pedaling coast-to-coast. If that’s you, you can make that dream come true in 2016.

‘Fiddler on the Roof ’ Auditions Jan. 11, 12 at ALT

Open auditions for one of theatre’s greatest musicals, “Fiddler on the Roof,” will be held by Ardmore Little Theatre (ALT) on Monday and Tuesday, Jan. 11-12. Performances of the ever-popular show will open at the Goddard Arts Center on Feb. 25. Fiddler’s original production won 10 Tony Awards, including a special honor for becoming the longest-running Broadway musical of all time. Last month, just before Christmas, the show re-opened for its fifth Broadway revival.
