Holcombe Purchases New Van

Kingston resident, Thomas Holcombe, recently purchased a new handicap van. Holcombe, along with his father and mother, has been raising money by collecting change and donations from businesses around Marshall County. The Holcombe family expressed their gratitude to everyone who donated to the project.

Despite challenges with the weather, area 4-H and FFA youth went forward with a fundraiser event to benefit The Hugs Project. The project is an Oklahoma-based, nonprofit organization that sends care packages to active military personnel.

Well, I hope you all made it through the storms okay this week. My part of town lost power on Tuesday night when a big tree on State Highway 32 blew over. Thank goodness Cliff and I had our Kindles charged so we could play games until it came back on.

Hello Texoma! This was sure a wild week with the storms and all, lots of hail and rain. Seems like we really get prepared and then the storm seems to go around us here by the lake. I haven't figured out why, and the weathermen can't tell us either. But, that is okay with me: no blown down trees or buildings.

Tri-City VFD Acquires New Truck

The Tri-City VFD serves the communities of Little City, Bridgeview, Cumberland and the surrounding areas. They respond to emergencies as first responders and fight fires. They have added a new and very important piece of equipment known as a skid unit.
