Unfinished Business

By Tom Cole

It’s been a great month in the 4th District, and I enjoyed updating everyone with the work we’re doing in DC. And, now it’s time to continue our work and get back to some unfinished business. As the Members of Congress descend back to Washington, we’re aware that there are things we’ve got to do, and there’s no time to waste in completing our tasks.

It is an Honor to Serve You

By Markwayne Mullin

Congress is back in session now after the district work period. I had the opportunity to do a lot of traveling around Eastern Oklahoma, and I met with a lot of people to hear about issues that are affecting their lives. I even got the chance to serve people at the drive-thru window at the Vinita McDonald’s. I never get to spend enough time with my wife and kids back home in Oklahoma; but while I’m in Washington, D.C., I have a great team back in the district that can solve a wide variety of problems.

The Real Way to Fight Poverty

By Markwayne Mullin

The old saying goes: “Give a man a fish, you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.” I think that is the same mindset we need to have when it comes to our welfare system.

Obamacare is a Money Pit

By Tom Cole

When Obamacare was created, it was sold to the American people as a new plan to both lower health costs and expand access. Six years later, many Americans have faced, and continue to face, outrageous premiums and deductibles.

Ensuring Oklahomans Get the Care They Need

By Markwayne Mullin

This month is a Congressional district work period, so I am home traveling throughout the state. This is a great chance for me to get out and talk with people about the issues that affect their day-today lives. One of the biggest problems I hear about is access to medical care for those who live in rural areas. My team has put in a lot of work lately on legislation that makes sure people who live outside the big cities can still get the care they deserve.

Rededicating Ourselves

By Tom Cole

Our nation was founded on the idea that the government should serve the people, not the other way around. In order to establish and protect that principle, our Founding Fathers established a Constitution which established a government structure unlike the world had ever known. Their plan to have a government of three branches – legislative, judicial, and executive – has stood the test of time and has served as the foundation of our Republic.
