James Lawrence Henry

James Lawrence Henry, 81, of Fobb, Okla.; passed away Jan. 1, 2019, at his home in Fobb. He was born on Sept. 7, 1937, in Fobb to the late E.C. Henry and Myrtle Sizemore Henry. He was raised in Fobb where he attended elementary school and then graduated from Kingston High School in 1956. Lawrence married Sharon Sue Young on Nov. 26, 1957, in Madill, Okla.

He worked as a peanut farmer and raised horses and cattle. Lawrence was a proud Kingston Alumni and served on REA Board from 1984-2019, the Peanut Grower Board, the Soil Conservation Board and ASCS Board. He was a member of the Willis-Fobb Church of Christ, and he loved coon hunting, his horses, and watching Kingston sports. He loved his family, grandkids, and great-grandkids.

He is survived by his wife: Sharon Henry, of the home; children: Lonny Henry, and wife; Joy, Decatur, Texas; Robby Henry, and wife, Vicky, Fobb, Okla.; grandchildren: John Robert Henry, and wife, Terri; Suzie Ellis, and husband, David; Amanda Rushing and husband Terry; Lan Sparlin; B. J. Lucy, and husband, Anthony; T. J. Herndon, and husband, Kelly; great-grandchildren: Taylor, Jewell, Alyssa Henry; Sadie and Aaron Ellis; Ty and Logan Rushing; Jaci Jo Lucy; Sophia and Sam Sedeh; sister: Pauline Haden and husband Walt, Madill, Okla.; sister-in-law: Francis Henry.

Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers: Jack and John Henry.

Visitation was Friday, Jan. 4, 2019, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. with a family hour from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Watts Funeral Home, Madill, Okla.

Services were Saturday, Jan. 5, 2019, at 2 p.m. at the Watts Memorial Chapel, Madill, Okla. Chris Webb and Bill Macon officiated the service. Interment was at the Willis Cemetery, Willis, Okla.

Casket bearers were: Steve Buckaloo, Bubba Buckaloo, Joe Underhill, Cameron Keeton, Richard Page, and Allen Harrison. Honorary bearers were: Lonny Weeks, Art Hackler, Terry Rushing, Bruce Page, Winston Hook, Bill Looney, and Clyde Lamar.
