Retha June Isbell Brown Comes

Retha June Isbell Brown Comes, 73, of Tishomingo, Okla., passed away Friday, Oct. 5, 2018, at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City, Okla. She was born on Aug. 6, 1945, in Modesto, Calif., to the late Walter Alva Isbell and Gwendolla Gilliam Isbell. Retha moved to Ravia where she was raised and graduated from Ravia High School in 1964. She lived in Oklahoma City and later in Dallas, Texas, where she worked for Flintkote in the sales department, the U.S. Postal Service, and was a secretary for an attorney. In 1992, she moved to Ravia where she lived the rest of her life. Retha married Michael Ernest Comes on July 1, 1983, in Dallas, Texas. She was a member of the New Beginnings Church, and she enjoyed working outside, gardening, sitting on the front porch watching the cows, sunsets, and sunrises. She loved taking trips, and raising kids. She is survived by her husband: Michael Ernest Comes, Tishomingo, Okla.; children: Darryl L. Brown, Oklahoma City, Okla.; Bobby Brown, Moore, Okla.; Stephen Comes, Ravia, Okla.; Joshua Wright and wife, Katelynn, Achille, Okla.; Sean M. Dean and wife, Emillie, Ravia, Okla.; Teresa Wright, Ravia, Okla.; Stephanie Dean and husband, Sean, Lone Grove, Okla.; Roseanne Dean, Colbert, Okla.; Cindra St. Clair and husband, Blake, Ravia, Okla.; grandchild: Collin Brown; great-grandchildren: Karsynn Wright, Michael Dean, and expecting two in the spring; brothers: Sam Isbell, Oklahoma; Al Daniel Leah, Oklahoma City, Okla.; and sister: Wydolla Brantley, Alex, Okla. Retha was preceded in death by her parents and one son: Tommy Brown. Visitation will be (today) Thursday, Oct. 11, 2018, at Watts Funeral Home, Madill, Okla., from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., and a family hour from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Services will be Friday, Oct. 12, 2018, at 10 a.m. at the Watts Memorial Chapel, Madill, Okla. Don Williams will officiate the service. Interment will be at the Lone Cedar Cemetery in Mannsville, Okla. Casket bearers are: Stephen Comes, Sean Dean, Blake St. Clair, and Joshua Wright. Honorary bearers are: Bobby Brown, Darryl Brown, Sam Isabell, Al Daniel Leal, and Don Brantley. Services are under the direction of Watts Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Madill, Okla.
