Lonnie Kub

Lonnie Kub, 86, of Madill, Okla., passed away Thursday, Aug. 2, 2018, at his home in Madill. He was born on July 11, 1932, in Weleetka, Okla., to the late Willie Kub and Audrey Carlisle Kub. Lonnie was raised in Weleetka where he graduated from Graham District 32 School in 1950. He married Juanita Mae Middleton on July 21, 1952, in Ft. Smith, Ark. Lonnie attended the Connors State College in Warner, Okla. He served in the United States Air Force from 1951 to 1992, and retired as a Chief Master Sgt. Lonnie was a member of the First Baptist Church in Madill, and served as a deacon since 1960. He loved gardening, working with his hands, and building things. Lonnie built all his homes. He loved his Schnauzers, Missie and Karmie, and the Lord. He is survived by his wife: Juanita Mae Kub, Madill, Okla.; special friends: Tony and Theresa McDermott, Madill, Okla.; special caregiver: Bonnie Hernandez, Madill, Okla.; grandchildren: Lindsey McDermott Cox and husband, Cody, Madill, Okla.; Courtney McDermott Hoedebeck and husband, Ray Allen, Madill, Okla.; great-grandchildren: Addison and Whitlee Hoedebeck. Lonnie was preceded in death by his parents; daughter: Deborah Kub; two sisters: Opal McClain and Ruth Curtis; and four brothers: Edward, Alfred, Ural, and Ken. Visitation was Sunday, Aug. 5, 2018, at Watts Funeral Home, Madill, Okla., from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m., with a family hour from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Services were Monday, Aug. 6, 2018, at 10 a.m. at the Watts Memorial Chapel, Madill, Okla. Art Brown officiated the service. Music was arranged by James and Nancie Rosson. Interment was at 4 p.m. at the West Lawn Cemetery, Henryetta, Okla. Casket bearers were: Burton Ludrick, Rick Choate, Dave Lack, Ray Allen Hoedebeck, Cody Cox, and Greg Clement: Honorary bearers were: Lonnie’s Sunday School Class, Ed Benton, and Bill LaRue.
