YOW Named Chief of Police in Madill

By Molly Raley

A hometown man has officially taken the reins of the Madill Police Department as Chief of Police.

On Friday, June 1, exactly 26 years to the day after being hired at the MPD, Madill City Manager James Fullingim officially promoted Yow to Chief of Police.

“We took applications, and after background checks I narrowed it down to Donald and another individual,” Fullingim said. “After the interviews, I knew that Donald was the one that we needed to hire.”

The Chief of Police position was left vacant after Fullingim accepted the City Manager’s chair in early November 2017. Yow was then announced as Interim Chief of Police, and the selection process began. According to Fullingim, Yow will continue the line of open communication that was set in place years ago, and will look to be community involved.
