Alvina Knight

Alvina Knight, 78, of Madill, Okla., passed away Tuesday, April 3, 2018, at the Brookside Nursing Center, Madill, Okla. She was born on May 19, 1939, in Madill to the late Grady Alvie Jackson and Phebe Lorean Sprouse Jackson. Alvina was raised in Madill, where she attended school. She married Jerry Don Knight on Jan. 15, 1955, in Madill, and he preceded her in death on May 19, 2006. Alvina was affiliated with the Baptist faith, and she enjoyed spending time with her family, camping, dancing, and watching soap operas.
She is survived by one child: Jennie Scarberry and husband John, Clayton, Okla., grandchildren: Jeremy Proctor, Steven Proctor, Aaron Nichols, Jeremiah Knight, Nickie Morgan, Jolynn Bumgarner, Francine Castaneda, Jessica Epley, Raymond Ramsdell, Jonathan Ramsdell, Suzette Ramsdell-Palmer, Tracy Johnson, Jessica Heflin, Jennifer Scarberry, John Mark Scarberry; numerous great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law: Francis Knight, Madill, Okla.; sisters: Kathrene Mays, Madill, Okla.; Dorothy Flanagan, Madill, Okla.; Sarah Woods, Kingston, Okla.; several nieces and nephews.
Alvina was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and one son: Jerry Devon Knight.
Visitation was Sunday, April 8, 2018, at Watts Funeral Home, Madill, Okla., from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Services were Monday, April 9, 2018, at 10 a.m. at the Watts Memorial Chapel, Madill, Okla. Pastor Weldon Wright officiated the service. Interment was at the Woodberry-Forest Cemetery, Madill, Okla. Memorials may be made to the American Legion Post #99, 214 East Overton, Madill, OK 73446.
Casket bearers were: Jeremy Proctor, John Scarberry, Tony Roberts, David Sprouse, Larry Qualls, and Allen Williford. Honorary bearers were: Steve Proctor, Bill Bailey, Aaron Nichols, and Jeremiah Knight.
