State Could Cut County Budget

Several Local Projects Delayed

The biggest topic during the regular meeting of the Marshall County Commissioners on Monday, Dec. 4, was the State’s budget shortfall and the possible impact it could soon have
on the citizens of Marshall County.

According to Commissioner Chairman Chris Duroy, during the State’s Special Session of the Legislature, Gov. Mary Fallin “diverted an additional $80 million from the County Improvements for Roads and Bridges funds, also called CIRB funds. This brings the total money diverted from the program to $130 million this year.”
