SQ 780 and SQ 781 were passed by Oklahoman voters last November and went into effect on Saturday, July 1. Marshall County Sheriff Danny Cryer, an avid opponent since the questions were first proposed, said they are already seeing the negative effects on the passing of these state questions.


To better understand the new challenges faced by law enforcement, one must first review exactly what the passing of these state questions means to Oklahoma. Where drugs are concerned, “simple possession of drugs is always a misdemeanor, regardless of prior convictions, proximity to protected areas, etc.”
